Meet the Directors of the Wilkins Center
Dr. Wendy Harris
Wendy
Harris, MD is the Associate Director of the Wilkins Center. Dr. Harris is a
Psychiatrist and Eating Disorders Specialist with expertise in a variety of
treatment methods, including medication, cognitive behavior therapy,
psychodynamic therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. She has extensive
experience in treating adolescents and adults. Dr. Harris believes in
personalized treatment and conducts evaluations, psychotherapy, and
psychopharmacology.
Dr. Harris is the former Unit Chief at the New York Presbyterian
Hospital, Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She headed the staff
and provided care for their world-famous 20-bed inpatient unit for people
with severe eating disorders. Working day-to-day in such an intense
environment helped her shape her philosophy toward treatment—a holistic
approach that dovetails with the Wilkins Center method of tailoring
treatment to individuals.
